The Transport Logistics Nurse is responsible for assisting in planning, providing, evaluating and documenting direct patient care including those patients with complex and involved care needs both inside and outside the hospital and clinic setting. Maintains a safe, therapeutic and organized environment. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide age appropriate care and to provide the care needed. All duties and care provided will be performed in accordance with Guardian Flight policies. All care delivered in preparation for transport and during transport will be implemented within the written treatment protocols approved by the Medical Director or treatment guidelines received from on line medical control.

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nurse with a minimum of an associateâ€™s degree. BSN is preferred.Â
Experience: A minimum of four years current nursing experience as a registered nurse, preferably in emergency or critical care nursing.Â
Licensure: Current State of Alaska Nursing License within 90 days of start date.Â Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certification required. Current and valid Alaska Driverâ€™s License and Passport required. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification must be successfully completed within 3 months of hire; approved trauma course within 12 months of hire; successful completion of the Alaska State Medevac Course during orientation; must test for and obtain CFRN within 12 months of hire.
Other Qualifications: Must be able to effectively demonstrate mastery in the use of monitoring and treatment equipment, including cardiac monitor/pacer/defibrillator, IV pump, I-State portable blood gas analyzers, transport ventilators etc.Â Will maintain skills such as endotracheal intubation, tube thoracostomy, 12â€lead EKG interpretation, and multiple IV drip administration. See educational guidelines for frequency and number of skills required per year. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and able to work in a team environment.Â Must maintain ability to pass repeat background checks and ability to possess an identification badge issued by the base location airport security.
